Words to use and words to not use

Lately I find myself correcting Matt’s (he’s my 9 year old) use of words. Not that he’s using the wrong words as much as too much of one word. For instance - eyeglasses. Yes it is a word and on that level it’s fine BUT it sounds, well, dorky to say. I mean really, if you tell me you wear “glasses” I’m not going to ask you where on your body they go. I’m feeling pretty safe assuming that they go on your eyes LOL!! Now tell me you wear “eyeglasses” and chances are pretty good I’m coming back with a comment about “kneeglasses” - or worse … cause that’s how I roll
