Why do laws not appy to celebrities?

Seems like every tabloid I pick up has a photo of some celebrity being arrested for driving while intoxicated, speeding or whatever. And yet, somehow they always get permission to get behind the wheel and do it again – what’s up with that?? Seriously, California auto insurance must be outrageously priced or how on earth do insurance companies afford to insure them at all?
