Hubby has asked me a few times now what I want in the future and how I see our retirement. I had to be honest and tell him that I really don’t imagine it at all. Maybe I’m happy now so I don’t need to do that BUT I think it’s more that I don’t like to look forward to things that may not happen. I’m from the “work your hardest, hope for the best but don’t count on it” camp. Dismal maybe but I don’t get so disappointed this way 
Anyway, it did lead to us having a bit of a chat about it. Ideally I think we’d both like a nice home – not necessarily luxury homes, but nice, maybe on a lake – a cottage home maybe – and lots of happy grandkids around. Okay… and I’d like a big garden too. Maybe some cats and a dog too. Phew… that’s enough for now
