A girlfriend of mine is going through a separation – on her way to divorce – and she has been marveling at how much extra stuff there is to deal with now that she is going to be out on her own. For one, now she has to finance all her purchases herself – that means the great world of loans is hers to learn about. Funny how when we are married we feel grown up but really we still have our partner’s help.
Because they were just starting out, she still has a bunch of purchases to make and that means learning the pros and cons of Secured Loans and why they can be necessary. It’s not like she wants to be frivolous either and get plastic surgery via Personal loans, she just needs a new car and a house to get started.
If anything this is a good wake up call for everyone around her. We’re all looking around wondering what WE would do in her situation; how many of us knows our finances inside and out?? How stuck would we all be if, suddenly everything was up to us??
