Hubby and I went out to dinner last week with the kiddos. It was an Italian restaurant that you’ve likely heard of – certainly a chain/franchise restaurant – but I won’t name names (I’m not like that – usually
). I should also add that it’s not an expensive place, quite moderate I’d say.
Anyway, we ordered appetizers and I was really stoked about mine – crab cakes – mmmmmmm – a definite favorite of mine. They arrived and I started eating them only to get to the middle of one and realize that it was still totally frozen. I promise you I’m not exaggerating either – I bit into it and it crunched like a snowball. I sort of froze (no pun intended
) and pondered what to say to Hubby.
You see, Hubby is a peaceful man who doesn’t make a fuss about anything unless he is VERY riled and someone has really pushed him as far as he can go – frozen crab cakes would NOT fall into this category
So, I battled it out in my head and decided to calmly say “gee, this is frozen solid in the middle” and make my “oopsy” face.
Then I watched him battle it out in his head and finally he said “well, do you want to say something?”. I decided to say something but I know that Hubby would have rather had me not say anything. The waitress took them off our bill, though in hindsight I would have rather just had another batch properly cooked this time, but it was my decision to make so…
It just got me to wondering whether other people would have said something… what would you do???
i would have said something also. say you didnt then you got really sick later from eating it. you would be out of luck cause you didnt bring it to there attention
