Dear Hubby decided last night to take the kids for a slice of pizza and a movie (one each to rent). They came home with pizza (check) and two Game Cube game rentals (ohhhhh nooooo). I was all excited because the kids were so excited – but then the kids said “no Mom, they’re GAMES” and I thought… ohhhhhh noooooo….
Movies are a nice treat for the kids. They last 2 hours (the movie that is, the kids never tire LOL!!), and it’s easy to take turns once they decide who goes first. A game is a nice treat too but it can go on for days straight with no obvious stop time. Meaning that, yes, there is arguing and crying about who had a longer turn and how bored the one who has to watch is and… well you get the drift.
Anyway, they shocked me today by calmly taking turns. I’m really still in shock. I suspect that the reason Matt gave Jenn a turn so easily was because he needed a snack
but nevertheless, I’ll take it. I made a point of saying how nice it was that they worked it out so easily and fairly. Gee maybe I’ve seen the end of the arguing over such things!!! NOT!! But, I’ll take a calm morning any day
