Pokemon and Jenny

For Christmas Jenny received a gift that, i have to admit, i had said she couldn’t have.

No, it’s not a big deal really. A good friend had asked what she’d like and i thought, well, if he really wants to get her a “big wow” gift… So I suggested to him that he get her the Pokemon running shoes she’s wanted since August.

See, she wanted them to be her “indoor shoes” for school. They are black and white and clearly meant for boys. I said “no way” and showed her the funky pink and white ones. She conceded but every now and then would ask “Mom, when can we get me the Pokemon shoes?” I was really hung up on her wearing “girl shoes”.

Then i thought, life is short, she wants the shoes, what the hey So she unwrapped that gift and her eyes lit up like i can’t even explain!! She was sooooo excited!

Now she wears them every day she can. I picked her up one day and she had decided to wear them with her pretty… dress!!! I just sighed and thought “well, she likes them so who cares”
