Last night after dunking the kiddos for bathtime, I decided to just let them dry themselves off and get jammies on. They’re 5 and 7 after all and for some reason they love doing it themselves (and who am I to disappoint them??
).
Anyway, I’m standing in the hallway chatting with Dear Hubby when I hear a thud and an Ouch! I wait a second and things are calm so I keep chatting (parenting side note – I don’t run for an Ouch since there are many of them in a day and my sweeties tend to be somewhat… let’s say “dramatic”). Then I hear “Uh, Mom, I’m bleeding!”… NOW they have my attention
So she was and frankly her wee toe had a deep cut. I truly thought we were destined for a trip to emerg. for tiny toe stitches (note to self – do NOT say this thought out loud to freaked out 5 year old next time – also hope there is no next time) but after 10 minutes of squeezing the toe to encourage the skin back together, it finally stuck, and stayed, and the bleeding stopped – YAY!
…just another day in the Mommy Hoo Hah I guess LOL!
Owieeee! That doesn’t sound like fun but I am so happy the bleeding stopped.
BTW I have a 7yo that Loves to dry himself off too after a bath. Usually he does this by running around butt-naked and letting himself air dry… (hee hee)
