This was to be the year of showers for Matthew and bathtime bonding for Jenny and I. “What is it instead?” you ask. It’s the year of double baths and “because lice hate it” tea tree oil shampoo. “Why is that?” you ask (and thanks for asking again Hon.). Because every other week I’m getting the dreaded pink sheet of paper telling me that someone in Matt’s class has head lice AGAIN.
Now, i know it’s possible that some parent didn’t notice little Billy’s lice and sent him off to school oblivious to the tiny monsters on his head BUT i also know that some parents send them to school anyway – “hey, maybe no one will notice”. This… well, I don’t feel i know you well enough to tell you the exact verbs that go through my mind 
but suffice to say that it irritates me to no end.
So far we have bee super fortunate to never have to deal with lice. Every bath i forgo the beautiful mango shampoo/conditioner combo for my daughter and slather her with tea tree oil shampoo instead. And, since it stings the eyes, I don’t want Matthew to use it himself in the shower so… yep, they are in the tub together instead. Luckily they don’t mind since they’ve always bathed together and for them well, parts are parts so they just have fun playing.
For me?? I’d like to get them both in the shower but hey, a double bath beats lice treatments and stuffed animal de-licing – eeek! Chin up Crystal… carry on LOL
