Well, I’m not generally supportive of lying to my kids that’s for sure but we passed of a wee one last night.
Matt was determined to stay up until midnight with the grownups and had been telling us for days that he wasn’t settling for 11 or 10pm this time. So, at 1pm we pushed the clock ahead 2 hours. Then at 7pm we realized he’d never make it to “the new midnight” either so we upped it another hour.
Matt is thrilled that he stayed up until midnight and we are thrilled it was really only 9pm real time 
Seems like a win-win all around! Hope we can pull it off next year but somehow I think he’ll figure it out…
