Have you read about this idea lately? Seems to be a popular topic in magazines. Since “they” tell us that so many foods have great health benefits (blueberries are a great example), the idea is that we consider the effects of each food item we take into our mouths.
It’s an interesting idea really. Consider this, would you take a pill each day so you could develop heart disease? Probably not and yet how many of us will eat a meal today that is not good for our hearts, ie. full of saturated fat??? Lots of us I’d bet.
You know those sheets of paper many pharmacies give out now with each prescription? Consider that each food you eat came with a similar sheet; what would it say the side effects were of eating that food? Good or bad? If it were a pill would you take it? Or would you switch to another pill that would help you live longer?
Food for thought next time we are at a drive through debating the grilled chicken sandwich or the double cheeseburger
